The Write Stuff Teaching

Helping Teachers Inspire Learners

Giving Back: Random Acts of Kindness Giveaway

Spread the love

Yesterday was the end of a long week.  It was actually a short week where I live because Monday was a holiday but you know how those short weeks go – they are always so long!!

We had parent teacher conferences for two days and I am part of a committee that is planning a multicultural festival for next week so I had been working on a passport for our school.  Then, of course, it was also Valentine’s Day and all the festivities that go with that.

So, when Friday hit I was spent.  I decided since I had some money left of my Starbucks card, I was going to treat myself.  So, I went to Starbucks through the drive thru and ordered not only a latte but breakfast and lunch too!

As I pulled up to pay, the lady kindly told me that the lady in front of me had paid for my order. The whole thing! Holy smokes!  I asked her if the lady had known how much it cost and she smiled and said “yes”. Wow. Just Wow.

I am always looking for ways to spread the kindness and have paid for coffees and given homeless people a meal but I felt particularly good about this one as I immediately felt like I could take on the day. That’s a great feeling! When someone is kind, kindness definitely grows. It’s RAK week.   I love that we have a week like that because it spreads kindness but I am a firm believer in doing things daily for others and I teach that in my class.

As I pondered this lovely act of kindness from this morning. I thought about something that I could do.  I don’t always set out to do something – I wait for it to come to me and it always does.

Then I thought about teachers – you all.  I thought of all of the teachers in my life. I think most teachers do random acts of kindness every single day at school. We are always giving ourselves for the good of our students.

So, I decided that one way I wanted to give back was by giving away a $25 gift certificate to my TPT shop to make another teacher’s life easier.

You can enter below using the rafflecoptor.  Have a great Valentine’s Day and thanks for entering and sharing the kindness. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the idea of paying it forward. I have been lucky enough to be the recipient of RAK's and it feels great! For my 50th birthday, I pledged to do 50 acts of kindness and it was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. I think I'll do it again this year! I have been a follower, but now I'm a FB follower, too! All the best to you!

That is such a good idea about the 50 RAKS! It just feels so good to make others happy. I feel very lucky to be able to teach students this!
